How to run this session

Stages and timing

  1. Make the base
  2. Build two triangular supports
  3. Position and tack the holder
  4. Reinforce the joints and finish the holder
  5. Display your own message

What gets built

Make a stable object and learn a simple three-dimensional joint.

What it practises

  • Joining flat parts to make a three-dimensional object.
  • Creating surfaces from adjacent strands.
  • Testing how your own holder works.

Success criteria

  • The base and the two triangular supports have solid infill.
  • The supports stand perpendicular to the base, with the notches aligned; the tacks are reinforced with full seams.
  • The card stands upright, and the holder neither tips over nor lifts when the card is inserted without holding it.
  • The finished holder has your own color scheme and displays the selected message.

What you need
